Hi all

I removed the back seat in Muriel yesterday and, after clearing away what looked like years of furry friend nests, found a rotten panel. It's the panel under the base of the back seat, hopefully pictured below. Strange as it's only on the drivers side and the passenger side is solid. First picture is to show the whole area and second pic is the local, rotten area.

Can I get this panel?

I would say you don’t need a complete panel, just a local repair. Not always good to disturb more than necessary. However your choice, so if you want a complete panel try ESM Minors.

I would say the localised nature of the rot is simply the furry friends peeing in the same area.
Pet Rodents like Hampsters do that in the same corner of their cage, so I imagine mice are similar.
I would see how it all cleans up, a local repair patch may be more appropriate.

I agree with the previous comments. That is an ideal area for a bit of fabrication and localised repair. Cut the rusted area out, make a new small repair panel to exactly fill the hole created and butt weld it in. Once the repairs are completed, make sure that all hidden areas and box sections are protected with a rust preventative. And keep the furry pests out! They do untold damage to cars

As it's not a common rot spot, you could also look to get a cut from a scrap car and weld that in, but that could be more work than just making a repair panel.
