Hi I have trouble with the fuel tank, the fuel pump will
not take all of the fuel out of the tank, when I dip the tank
Through the sender hole there's about 3"of fuel but the pump
Will not pump it any ideas
Regards Paul

Hi Paul, it sounds like there could be a few things going on. The issue might be with the fuel pump's pickup tube being clogged or damaged, or the fuel pump itself may not be functioning properly at low levels.

Corroded pick up pipe likely cause,if it has a hole it will stop sucking when level gets to this point as it will now suck air. Pick up pipe cut short or bent so not going to base of the tank
Unlikely to be blocked if pumps fuel ok until this point.
When you say dipped through sender hole I assume you had removed it so did you check for damage or depth?

Rather than just dipping the tank through the Sender hole, actually look inside and see what's going on.....
You can get an endoscope type camera that fits into your phone and/or laptop from about £7.

Good suggestion. I bought one of those recently because I've often needed one. Now that I have one, I'll probably never need it.

Mine has come in handy quite a few times. Often to check inside cylinder bores. I’ve had mine for a few years, now.
