Can any of you recommend a decent car cover for my MM 1000? She's kept in a container, but I'd like to keep her covered. It's needs to be fairly robust. I don't want to use a tarp as it's a pain to keep tucking in. Thanks in advance!

I take it you mean a shipping container? It might be best to insulate and line the container, as that will stop the dripping you get from condensation. There is a firm who offer the so called Cartainer, which can be adapted to solve the problem. Solve the dampness problem and any decent dust cover will do. Always bear in mind that the car needs to be clean and dust free before being covered. If you have power laid on, you can used a Carcoon https://www.carcoon.com/ . I have never needed to use one, as my garage is nice and dry but has venting if required.

Let us know how you get on. A friend has just mentioned that small de humidifiers (1.5 litre capacity - I presume this means the liquid container, which I imagine it would need to be emptied quite a lot) aren't at all expensive. I've no experience of them but I think the Carcoon has one built in.

At present, I have the use of my own garage and that at my mother's home (In which I was also involved in the building or rather extending, best part of forty years ago). It is not the intention to keep two places on the go long term and when one goes, I will either need to add a small workshop at my place (For the lathe and milling machine) or another garage, at my mother's place. As such, I am always interested in the various options. I know there are permitted developments (Essentially up to 30m2, with other regs covering location on plot and height) but so I gather, things like containers or the "Carapace" garage are exempt from planning permission.
