Well let's start with clearing up whether you have typo'd.
Are you asking about EJ or the /1 ???
There is no OEJ, or shouldn't be....

OJE is a 'Morris 1/4 Ton GPO Engineering Van', I believe the 1 to indicate RHD UK Only.
For cars the Potteries Branch website seems to be accurate, but for LCVs the 1958-71 decoding doesn't agree with all the details in the Parts book.
Download copies of the LCV parts books, AKD 3574 and AKD 3575.
Easily located online in downloadable pdf.
They cover all LCV from introduction during SII, unlike the Car parts books which are a different and can only be found online for the 1000 model.
I don't have an LCV, but I use the LCV books for SII info, in the absence of the SII Car parts books. Plus just general interest.

I also own a 61 van and the chassis number starts with OEJ/1. I know the history of this van as I'm the second owner, it wasn't a GPO van as the chassis number suggests.
For more info it is worth contacting British Motor museum at Gaydon and buying a heritage certificate it contains original colour, build dates, dealer shipped, body number to plus other info, they happen to have the data for that year although I know some later information was lost in a fire.

Very interesting... OEJ, whether followed by a /1 or not, does not appear in the Morris publications.
Therefore back in the era of these vehicles having a dealer network behind them, trying to get parts for them would have been met with 'Book Says No', rather than the 'Computer Says No' that is often experienced these days...
Only OJE would be a PO Engineering van.

I suspect the parts book decoding starts later as my chassis plate is the large rectangular design. The Potteries decoding is correct for my van which is dark grey.

Ahh..
So the LCV had continued with the 52-58 coding style... I must admit I didn't look at that on the Potteries page as it was outside the quoted year of the van.
Now you've pointed that out, I realise that the 'J' is a Red Herring, it's just the incidental colour code.
It's not OEJ****, it's OE*****
I've just dug out my copy of Original Morris Minor... Tucked away in the depth of the info on LCV identification is the sentence "Later Series III models from 1962 onwards followed the changed practice adopted for cars in 1958....'
So OEJ/1 is just a LCV, Van, Dark Grey, RHD Home Market
I'm glad we're resolved that, as I'm always saying, every day's a school day....
The page I included earlier cross references to Page 11, which lists the breakdown by Series.

You are welcome.
It is well worth buying a Heritage Certificate from Gaydon, they have the records for 1961 LCVs.
