A slightly weird question but here goes;-
Can someone please tell me the radius (or diameter if it's easier!) of a standard Minor wheel AND tyre?!
(BTW I know the wheel is 14 inches - sorry)
Thanks
Martin

Please save the following attachment for all references to tyres/wheels.

I wish I had mine outside, I would have ran outside and measured. Very good website btw Pete. Couldn't one just calculate it?
145/80x14 which means the side wall of the tyre is 80% of 145mm
80% of 145mm= 116mm= 4,6"
wheel diameter is 14"
2 x 4,6" as we need both the top and bottom bits of tyre
Add that to the 14"
4,6"x 2= 9,2"
9,2"+ 14"= 23,2 "
Grand total 23,2" (in the rough)
But I could just be utterly wrong, maths was never a strong point, could someone please measure up??????

Onne - you got the basic calculation correct. There are some additional small fudge factors regarding tyre pressure and weight of the car (how much the tyre is squashed) to give the rolling radius.
I've no idea how that bit is calculated but the one you used gives a near enough result to compare the size of one wheel / tyre combination to any other.
And what's with this inches stuff? I had to convert it back to the present century to check your result ;-)

Thanks to Les,
I have the answer
The total diameter is 23 and 13/16 inches (Firestone tyre), so you know.

Not too bad a calculation then! A bit more as I calculated, but that is probably down to rounding of the numbers.
