I feel I started the ball rolling regarding the forum member “ MidnightMechanic”, resulting in the thread Hijack.
See thread;-viewtopic.php?t=78004&sid=0d1946a7e488f ... a0698cec9b

I said I’m wondering if the MidnightMechanics posts are created by Artificial Inteligence.
I stand by what I wrote, I never meant this member isn’t a real person, just that this person is using AI to write the posts as they don’t seem right and I can’t see the point of them.
The last post is probably by the real MidnightMechanic
It’s not the same, with spelling errors, etc.

Luckily the posts have stopped for now at a count of 9 posts.
Perhaps He/She will respond to this in his/her own words.

Please don’t use AI it’s too annoying and perhaps should be banned in the forum Terms & Conditions.
Keep it for your Social Media.

Regards John

Edit;- Just noticed he is using it to promote his Business. See the signature line.
Edit again:- He has removed the Business promoting signature line.

I exchanged PMs with a couple of people who had expressed concerns about posts from MidnightMechanic. At that time, although the posts were pointless, they did not contravene the Ts&Cs. I also asked MM to comment - no response. Two of the posts were then reported and those did contravene the Ts&Cs. I have now removed the advertisement from his (or her) signature and closed the account. Although the posts are pointless, I have not deleted them as that would make other posts irrelevant, and there would be too much editing required to make everything make sense.

Thanks to all who contacted me and reported the offending posts, collective vigilance helps keep the board useful and relevant.

Update: An email was sent to MM informing him that his account had been closed and inviting him to appeal that decision. The reply was abusive and featured a word that would not get past the filter on the board. That more than anything confirms that we have taken the correct action.
