Hi Gang!

I wonder if anyone has ever made their own rubber gaskets using a Cricut machine. I was looking for ideas today and came across this video:

It seems like a fantastic idea. If I bought one and had good results with it, I'd be happy to share it with others who need gaskets. My only concern is how it would perform with a 2mm neoprene sheet - which I've just bought. If I had one I'd be able to cut slightly smaller screw and bolt holes to stop the fuel smell, for example, with the tank sender unit.

my daughter has one for craft work but I'm not sure it would do stuff that thick?

It does seem unlikely that it would cut rubber sharply in to gaskets but the video looked like it did and I've seen and read other Americans who claim it has worked for them.

In 1974 I stepped in to the shipyard to serve my apprenticeship as a mechanical fitter.
I was well impressed by the automated cutting machine that cut huge pieces of steel plate in all kinds of complex shapes.
The cutters were burning torches, the machine was bigger than a row of houses, (we made supertankers) and to think now miniature versions are in our homes, which was just unthinkable then.

Having now spent a bit more time looking in to this topic, I think I'm going to buy a CNC laser cutter. This guy looks to have it cracked.
