I've been offered some stainless steel door tops. How easy is it to replace the existing door tops? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,
Louise

I found it a little bit of a struggle, but not that hard. The trickiest bit is the two nuts under the quarter light which go on to bolts through the door top, which are difficult to reach, unless you have a small socket set with an extension and a deep reach socket.
Then it's just the hassle of slotting the frame into the door around the glass - unless you take the glass out and slot them in together. It's well worth replacing all the window seals at the same time too, and be prepared for a bit of rust, especially on the bar that sits under the window.
Eminently do-able, but a little time consuming.

What Andrew says is right, those top two fixings are not only difficult
to remove without a deep reach socket but are usually rusted solid too.
You would be wise to pre soak them in releasing fluid for as long as
possible to avoid breakage.
