Football well done England.
What a load of rubbish England has been but have to admit was a thrilling finish tonight. Let’s hope now they can get there act together and Swiss Switzerland aside next.
Re: Football well done England.
Typical optimism from the England faithful, watching some of the best players we've ever had perform so woefully under the games' luckiest ever manager, and STILL thinking we'll turn the Swiss over.

Re: Football well done England.
Rocco I’m actually a Northern Ireland supporter/ Manchester United so I am well used to poor management
and disappointment , so I have to live in hope lol.
I would like to see England carry on as I know the players etc so it’s more interesting to watch. I m o Southgate left good players at home that would have had more courage to have a go , here’s to an embarrassing night against the Swiss or Southgate getting his prayers answered.
Never know England might now realise that they need to attack the oppositions end to win.

Oh don’t let’s start on this football. Surely there must be a forum for it somewhere, probably hundreds.
Re: Football well done England.
It's in the off-topic section Les so surely it's OK to have the discussion here, even if it has been double-boring so far.

Load of over-paid ponces, all most of them care about is driving their Bentleys round the Cheshire countyside and clubbing , started off with George Best, if they were on performance related pay that would soon sort them out....

Footballers , golfers etc etc a bit like the car sales folk , they buy the cars from and the repair shops too they are all robbers but don’t wear a mask.
Oh and if you live in N.I some companies jump on band wagon and double and treble up on postage.
As a wise old chap told me 50 yrs ago beware when making a purchase as usually all the seller wants is the money from your pocket into his and will lie his way through his hat to do it.

You haven't experienced hard pressure car sales until you visit a car sales place in the USA....Mercmancdi wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 3:37 pm Footballers , golfers etc etc a bit like the car sales folk , they buy the cars from and the repair shops too they are all robbers but don’t wear a mask.

I went out there for 3 years with my job, and it was horrendous.
As soon as you arrive, the salespeople swarm over you like bees because they probably only get paid on commission, so you have to pick one to speak to just to make the rest move on... then they want to escort you around and only show you the ones they want to sell....
Luckily, we eventually found the one place in the city that was like a UK car warehouse, they let you wander around and spend as long as you wanted viewing the place....
Even then, we eventually brought privately from people I worked with, as we were all rotating out there on a reasonable schedule....
Has that diversified the conversation enough for anyone....

Think you’ll find there’s roughly around 56 in the 2 squads all very well paid. I don’t mind a bit of football used to play a bit now I couldn’t walk around the pitch never mind run it. Like fishing too but not to watch .

Re: Football well done England.
We often go to our local Italian restaurant in a nearby village about 10km away, a perfect summer evening outing for the Morris. Filipo and his wife Anna come from Calabria and he speaks German with a strong "whata mistaka to maka" accent. One evening last year they had a visit from other family members - all italo-Germans. Seemed like about 500 of them. Anna introduced us to their famous cousin who is a profi footballer , albeit not in the first Bundesliga. A very humerous and approachable chap. We got on well and had quite a few laughs.
"You're not a footballer", I teased him "you havn't got any tatoos".
"Doch" !
He rolled up his right arm to reveal the mass of skin discolouration that seems to be the current fashion accessory for profi footballers.
"OK, I believe you now".

Re: Football well done England.
Ahh well suppose best team on the night won.
Although considering the way England started the tournament it was a bit of a shock they got to the final.
Big names very very disappointing.
But from my point of view it was good to see part of uk in there until the end , more interesting and at least knew some of the players from watching premier league.
