Hi. Fitted these gauges but the voltage one in photo , need an earth I assume to either pilled as not marked , can I pick up earth from anywhere, / now pos one where do I need to pick it up / is it from any wire that comes live when ignition is turned on. Thank you.

So aside from the Temp Gauge with the attached sensor bulb, what are the other two, a Voltmeter and a what, Oil Pressure?

Are you asking just about how to connect up the voltmeter, or about the gauge lighting too?

Hopefully the supplier will send you simple instructions to follow.

Earth is 'Earth'.....
The gauge lighting will hopefully earth via the casing and brackets.
You just need to connect all 3 of those red ones to a suitable switched supply, either from the Ign Sw or from the Lights switch, depending where you want them lit all the time or just when the lights are on.

The Voltmeter worries me with it's gash nut & bolt connections and very little insulation around them...
Looking at it, they're marked G & I, so hopefully 'G' is Ground and 'I' is for the supply.......unless the instructions say otherwise.
Connect the Voltmeter 'I' to the main Ign Switched Fuse, the one with the Green wires.
Don't just connect it up anywhere, as that will be adding more cabling into it so affecting the reading (only a little hopefully, but still not good practice).
Connect the 'G' to Earth.

Other too are done it’s just the voltage ,
Seems bit silly but I never even seen the G & I
that’s what happens when your glasses are hanging around your neck instead of on your face.

Many thanks ps I have electrical sealing gel once connections are made you simply squeeze it over the terminals , it’s seals them and drys out clear stops damp or any shorts .

Ok so there’s the 2 main fuses on bulk head right hand one is 2 green wires on one connector comes live with ignition on , the others is black that is always live.
So I assume live wire from gauge goes into the green that’s live , tried gauge direct from battery works as should but when connected to the green fuse got reading when turned ignition on but lost reading when engine starts , just saying in case someone corrects me and if the wires are right will check is case when car started got bad connection, just fiddling as got Covid so bit light headed at minute and trying to pass my time a we bit at a time.

All those gauges, to worry over ! The beauty of the Minor is it has none !

I totally agree. Every so often I consider whether it might be useful to have an oil pressure gauge but in 35 years of ownership I have never seen the need for any additional gauges. I am fortunate that I have a convertible which due to the under dash strengthening arches and seam, makes it very awkward to fit additional gauges. This has kept my car unmolested!

I took a look at your earlier posts and assuming you've still working on the same car, a 1970. In unadulterated form there should not be any Black wiring anywhere near there and it shouldn't be live.
Black is the colour for Earth only.
I suspect what you have is Brown, that has darkened with age, because that is the permanent live from the battery.
That feeds the Horn and Interior Lights. So do not connect to that, it will be reading all the time and eventually drain the battery.

You need to be connected to the Ign Sw operated fuse, the one with White input and Green output (of the fuse). You can connect to either side, but I would strongly recommend it is the output, Green, side.
It should not be affected by the engine being started.
That's just very strange so I suspect a loose connection somewhere.
Did it come back when the engine switched off, or didn't you notice?
It would be a useful thing to have noticed...

Thank you for advice I will have proper look once over this darn Covid it’s my first time and hit hard. I keep popping out to shed to fiddle at we bits but have to wait now until
I can actually stand , I am sure your right about colour of wires , so once on my feet will follow your advice and this time make proper connection. Thank you I appreciate the help.
