Morning all.
I need some speed nuts (also called U nuts or spire nuts) to take size 12 self tappers. The problem is, I need them to be 30mm long and the longest I can find on ebay are 26mm long.
Does anyone know of a fastening company that sells them?
Thanks. John.

Bresco (google them) supply a huge range of fastenings. Well worth a try.

Thanks ManyMinors.
I had a look but they also only do 26mm ones.
Thanks. John.

I’ve used Speed fasteners in the past, they might have some.

Thanks Les.
Did you mean Spalding Fasteners?

I have emailed them. Awaiting reply.
I need 30mm long ones to fit the load bay floor boards to a van. The side panels have pre-drilled holes and 26mm speed nuts are not long enough to position the screw hole in the middle of the pre-drilled hole.
Thanks,
John.

Have you considered nutserts (rivnuts)

Spalding and everyone else only have 26mm ones.
I have got an old catalogue from the London Morris Minor Centre at Raynes Park somewhere. I bet they used to sell them; they had everything for minors. Unfortunately they have been closed for donkeys years.
Thanks for the suggestion Bill. I am going to make do with the rusty old ones.
Thanks,
John.

When I restored my van I used the clips from Kay Fasteners on eBay, the clips didn't line up exactly in the middle of the hole but there was plenty of adjustment as the holes in the side panels and the wooden panel are quite large. Any adjustment was covered by the large dished washer.
The original clips didn't fit in the centre of the hole. The overall length of the Kay's clips was less than the originals but the hole was in a similar position as the originals.

Thanks Keith.
It is frustrating because 30mm clips fit perfectly, and were obviously available once upon a time because they are what were originally fitted.
I am cleaning and trying to paint my old originals. As your picture shows...even new ones rust like mad!
Thanks
John.
