Hi all, I need to replace the n/s lower suspension trunnion on the moggy, but I can't work out how it comes off. I will intend to replace both sides, but n/s is the worst. Any one help please. I can only assume it's threaded,is it a left thread or right. Thanks in advance, tomo

You will have to remove the hub and brake back plate to allow the trunnion to unscrew.
You may well find that the swivel trunnion threads are shot. If the threads are sharp and do not have a flat on their top then the swivel is scrap. There are undersize trunnions but to fit them requires the special die and I do not know where you would find one. Also the undersize trunnions are as rare as hens teeth.
When you come to assemble the trunnion to swivel you have to centralise the trunnion pin in the cut out between the bottom threads of the swivel. If you do not centralise you may not be able to fit the pin or turn the trunnion.
See the workshop manual for full details.
Take care when undoing the bottom suspension arm from the swivel as there is a lot of power pent up in the torsion bar.
Make sure that you have adequate support under the chassis legs before you start the job.

Yes and make sure that trunnion pin is out before you try to unwind and replace the trunnion or you will ruin the thread on the upright. They are opposite threads on each side.

Would I be correct in saying " left-hand thread on the right, right-hand thread on the left " ?
(As viewed from sitting in the drivers seat )
