My apologies if this is an old subject. I hope to have Maude finally back with me next month, but the tyres are obviously shot and not roadworthy. I have bought 5 tyres and need to have them fitted at home. Does anyone know of a home tyre fitting service located fairly close to my home near the Suffolk coast

Why not fit them yourself.
Just follow the instructions in the BMC wksp manual.
Back in the day that is what Minor owners had to do.
They even had to repair punctures on the side of the road.

I was going to say the same Phil but wondered if Rustynuts might think I was mad —— mind you they would need still balancing.

I used to work as a tyre fitter and the only thing stopping me from doing my own is a lack of tyre levers, I am still looking around my local independent tyre retailers to see if one of them can help, but as far as the major tyre companies go you might as well forget it, may I just add that I used to fit lorry tyres by hand with levers ( but that was 40 years ago ).

2 ft tyre levers are more than adequate and longer and too much pressure could be put on the bead causing it to tear.
Also use a tyre fitting lubricant such as that in the link below:-

Love the information that is in the owners manual, so much more interesting and involving than encyclopedia that comes with a new phone accessory ( new car) which tells you how everything runs through a app and how you can not fix anything or even change a wheel.
As for repairing the tyres I have a repair kit that I have used successfully

Tyre levers also work great as pry bars so well worth having anyway. (I learnt how well they worked after snapping my pry tool).

Put in the tyres you "need" etc. and make sure you set the "order" to fitting at home, then see which companies come up as doing home tyre fitting, then search for their details online and ring them directly and say you have the tyres and need them fitted and ask for the price

Apparently Halfords now do this service too.

I don't know about coastal Suffolk but I had a mobile tyre fitter come to my home in Surrey to fit tyres to rims for a modern car. As it happens they were Winter tyres for a trip to Switzerland. It was all very efficiently done.

I used black circles.com and a tyre fitter in Martlesham that was listed on the website. I took the wheels in my modern car for the fitting. It depends how far up the coast you are as to whether this is useful though!
