Fuel Gauge on Negative earth MM

I have a 59 1000 with the gold fuel gauge, I understand that the B terminal should go to the battery and the T to the sender as standard. But my car has been converted to negative earth, so should these be reversed to make the gauge work correctly?

Not done this so far on a Morris Minor, but on my beloved Riley RMs with similar gauges there is no need to reverse the fuel gauge connections when changing polarity.

There's no reason to change it.
It's simply because if there were no markings, someone would ask which was which. They could just have marked them 1 & 2....
The original Voltage Stabiliser of later cars isn't polarity sensitive either, but the modern replacement ones are as they are electronic.

Are you asking because there's a problem with the gauge not working, or some other reason?

A 1959 car won't have a voltage stabiliser in any case, so no need to worry about that. The fuel gauge is not polarity sensitive either so just wire it up the same way as original regardless of whether positive or negative earth.
