Traveller rear mud flaps.

Was thinking how to redirect rain water from slashing up against the underside of the timber frame.
The obvious solution would be mud flaps, but there's no where to fix them.
So I made two pieces from 2mm galv then fixed the mud guards onto them. My concern was the MOT inspection.
My ' brackets' were attached to the leaf spring bolt and because of this is why I wondered if would fail the MOT.
This was not the case. It passed. I did point out to the mechanic prior to the test what I did and he said it was ok.
Here are a few photographs of my solution. Would love to hear if there was an easier option.
