It's a BMC A-series 1275cc. Looks like it was once a Gold Seal reconditioned engine and painted black over the gold.

The engine is basically a Morris Marina/Ital unit.
But if you have a Minor/Midget gearbox fitted it will not be a Marina/Ital clutch assy fitted.
Until you strip the clutch you will not know what clutch to order.
It could be one of the following:-
1. Morris Minor 1098cc.
2. MG Midget clutch assy.

Could be Toyota, Mazda etc both popular Minor gearbox conversions.

Can you please post a couple of photos of the rear section of the gearbox?
At first glance It looks to be Ford Type 9.
If it has the alloy section at the rear housing the 5th gear then it would be a type 9.

I suspect that the clutch centre plate required is the one shown in the link below.
https://www.morrisminorspares.com/clutc ... a-p1239177
But to be absolutely certain what parts are fitted the clutch needs to be stripped out and the parts identified.
Do you have a file relating to the car and especially the Ford Type 9 conversion as that may provide a clue to what parts are fitted and the supplier.

Thank you for the clue.I do not have anything to help the ID so this will have to do.As advised selling the car as engine pushing oil out of breather as it was before engine rebuild and clutch appears wet also.Done what I can so down to someone who wants a challenge.I just want less stress.

Hi I have her on eBay at £4000 due to oil pressure and clutch issue.Wood is good as kept garaged.zu derneath solid as had to be welded.Interior seats good only one small repair to driver seat.Head lining OK but needs repair or change in future.Engine recently rebuilt and gearbox very good.Overall a good car but needs someone to sort those issues.Great car to dive but needs sorting.Lights and heater internal light and wipers work.Washers dint.Bit if historic bubbling on door bottoms under oaint but has been same for three years so not any worse.Doors lock but rear door needs attention to lock.
