Two bars and Trailers

So...
I've come pretty close to the limits of my minor's carrying capacity quite a few times now, and I'm thinking that a trailer would be a handy companion to my minor.
But, I've got no tow hook....
Can anyone give me any idea of what needs to be done to fit one, how much it'd cost, can I do it meself, and uh, like that
Oh, and where'd be a good place to get bits from?

Well the traveller ones tend to bolt on to the bumper mounts... its basically a strong bar with a tow ball attached spanning the bumper mounts...

Morris Minor Centre in Birmingham sell tow bar kits; or direct from Watling Engineers 01277 873661. Last time I bought one it was around £65, complete. Add opn a few more pounds for electrical bits, underseal, etc.. Easy to fit, both Traveller & Saloon; but need to drill boot floor. No welding. NB, bumper mountings and boot floor pan must be in good condition. Happy towing.

I just recently took a towbar off my traveller as i never used it (a fully laden traveller and trailer os TOO much stuff to cart around), I took it off cause 1) I don't have a trailer, 2) never used the tow bar, 3) the number plate used to catch on the ground a lot.

Dont use one that just does that you need a correctly made one as suggested by simmic as they really need to be bolted to the car structure not just the bumper mounts, the ones quoted from Watling are purpose made to fit the car and are made and designed by them this is not a sales pitch as they are local to me but just engineered properly to do the job.

I saw one at a rally recently that was detatchable!! The towbar unit slotted into a purpose made box under the rear of the car, in this case a Traveller. It would need excellent strengthening and mountings because of the forces applied, but it looked brilliant, and didn't mess up the lines of the rear of the car - a bit plus point if you could fabricate one or modify and existing towbar!
