Rear View Mirror. Replacements that fit

My rear view mirror (Wingard) is barely useable. The silvering of the glass has deteriorated to the point that it is peppered with brown dots and streaks and the white plastic glass surround is also cracked.
I got a reproduction mirror from the Dorset branch of MMOC. These are 3D printed. They look the part and fit perfectly but the mirror part is acrylic and it distorts the image to the point that it is very hard to judge the distance of a car behind. I really don't like it.
I cannot find a NOS mirror or even a second hand one in better condition than what I have.
I can see that various new mirrors are available in either stainless steel or chrome which would be a change as my original mirror and stem are white. I would not mind as for safety's sake I need a clear undistorted view behind.
Can anybody recommend a replacement mirror that they have fitted?
Edit: Does anybody know if this Mini mirror fits? It is smaller than my mirror which is just over 7"

Could you replace the glass in the original mirror?
Is the surround repairable?
I had flat glass wing mirrors on my car when I got him, they are the most useless thing ever used on a car.
As they were high quality arms with the spring back mechanism, I looked at just replacing the glass with convex and they are a massive improvement.
The place I used might be able to help you, as they offer bespoke cutting service, especially as we all know you like to keep original items when you can...

Perhaps stick a new mirror on top of it and use a thin bead of white acrylic or silicone to cover the edge....
Or search ebay for Wingard 909769, and there's currently a couple for sale.
They're black casing not white, but there's always the option to paint over the casing.

Discontinued unfortunately but would have been perfect.

Thanks I may well end up sticking another piece of mirror glass on top.
Driving today I thought I might get used to the Dorset branch replica. It’s a bright image but cars behind seem distorted and much closer than they actually are.

The Minispares page I linked to in the first post seems to suggest that the Wingard 7.25” in white is aftermarket (at least as far as Minis are concerned). This is what I have.
Could anybody with a late 60’s car measure their mirror for me please?

I used a Mini mirror. Only one fixing the holes lines up but it's secure and doesn't vibrate. Not original looking but it's from the same stable and you can get a dipping version for when those huge SUV's dazzle you with their night suns.
Sorry about the reflections

Ah so the screw holes don't line up for the Mini one? That's a pity. Or is that just for much later Mini ones? Confused as usual.....

That's a fair dig! I do want to be able to see what's behind me though......I thought the Mini one looked identical and might even have been the same BMC part. I don't know that though and I wanted to avoid wasting my money..

This one was originally on my '91 Cooper before I fitted the dipping type to it. As the Minor one was looking a bit rough I fitted this in its place. Even though only the top hole lines up it sits nice and snuggly and the cover clips over to hide the open holes.

Yes that's the Dorset Branch MMOC 3D printed replica. It looks good and has a bright image but I find the distortion of the image disconcerting. Other people might not have an issue to be fair. Apparently the mirror part is acrylic because it would have been too expensive to make it in glass. I am asking the maker if it is possible to take out the acrylic mirror and replace it with glass.
