The screenwasher is inoperative. So I got a replacement check valve and pump from ESM. The new valve is in and an exact copy (photo) of the one it replaced, but still no screenwash.
The new pump (photo) seems to have no internal valve. Does the original pump have an internal valve? Any displacement pump should have two valves, inlet and outlet. So if the washer bottle valve is inlet, where is the other valve..
The reason I ask is that, in my set-up (photo), I have to remove the steering column, the glove box plus speedo to check the pump and tubing

Re: One-valve windscreen washer pump?
I have an ancient pump (but it still works) mounted above the washer bottle. I recall ESM telling me that if I fitted one of their new pumps it had to be at the same level as the bottle. Is “S” for suction?
You might want to do some testing before actually installing

I suppose 'S' is for suction, and 'J' for jets
. But this new pump has no valve. What about valves?

Re: One-valve windscreen washer pump?
Oh is it a manual washer pump? Mine is electric
The ESM description says you need to fit a foot valve that goes in the bottle (which you have) and a valve after the pump. Note the in-line non-return valve is directional (flow direction arrow on valve)
