A brief report from one day on the AMMF rally in. the Auvergne.
'This morning's jaunt was probably the best of any Morris Minor foreign tour EVER.
Chris and Mary Hall arranged for us to go to the nearby racing circuit of La Charade, formerly used to host 4 French Grands Prix, Now curtailed from its original 8 km course and described by Stirling Moss as the best ever GP circuit, it is used for demonstrations and occasionally opened up to the full 8 miles.

We were welcomed with hot and cold drinks and pastries as well as a talk on the history and current use of the track and then led 'at parade speed' - actually full pelt on three circuits of the track.
Exhilarating , educational and occasionally terrifying, loads of Morris Minors pelted around with RER919 doing things she was never designed to do. After all she is now an old lady and was 66 years old, yesterday.
The AMMF (The French Club) have excelled themselves in their welcome, planning and attention to detail. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to take part in their peregrinations and see friends old and new.
