Rear Boot Repair
Hi, My rear boot lid lip has previously been repaired with filler which is now falling away. Therefore do you think if I cleaned off the filler and sort (Mig) welded a strip of metal to the edge, this would give me a firm base to re-fill and make good? Or is this a case where a boot repair kit would be better placed? Thanks.

Re: Rear Boot Repair
Yes the only lasting way to repair it would be to let new metal in, unfortunately chances are that when you dig into it there will be rust in the inner panel and further up the outer panel, depending on the welders skill level and amount of rust it may be possible to let in metal to the damaged areas, chances are it will need lower repair sections though.
