Oh joy of joys. Had to dig deep in the depths of my box here. Filed under 'Not used this Millennium' was this little life saver. Ahh, that's better...

The above is a Sturevant Richmont Torque Products spanner for use with their torque wrenches. As used in the space and aero industry.
Reputably the best torque wrenches you can get.
I have three Sturevant Richmont torque wrenches for different torque settings and a good selection of sockets/spanners including pipe spanners of the type shown above.
All given to me by someone who worked in the aero industry upon their retirement.

I have a good selection too Phil, again given to me by someone who retired from Woodford.

Nothing to do with a choke cable, then.

Of course it has.
Now you know where to get the special spanner for doing the choke cable back nut. :tu1:
or you could cut down a flare nut spanner to suit.

Why do you need a special spanner? I've always managed to undo it with a perfectly ordinary spanner and a little care

With a cut down flare nut spanner the job is much easier to do and the spanner fits nicely over the choke cable and around the back nut.

Or cut a slot in a ring spanner if you don't have pipe spanner :tu1:

I've never needed anything more than a simple open ended spanner to undo that. It isn't a part which suffers from rust or is difficult to undo. Access is slightly restricted but no more than lots of other things and, for me it isn't really a job which needs doing often enough to warrant keeping a special tool
