Hi, My moggy appears to be a little bit bouncy when going over a rough bit of road, and I am thinking that the Shock Absorbers my be on the way out, and hence can I buy a kit or the parts to refurb the shocks myself, or do I need to send them off to a specialist to carry out the refurbishment?

Thanks.

Well firstly...
A - Are they the original Armstrong Lever Arms you're referring to, or something else (you may think 'of course they are' but it stops us going on a wild goose chase  ) ?
B - Have you checked the oil levels in them?

Quick update, there was oil in the O/S Front Shock, but the other three are very low on oil. Therefore first job is to top up with oil. Thanks again for your guidance .

If you have a manual, check out Section L.
Do a search on here and you'll find various results relating to which oil to use, some prefer harder ride than others, also advice about emptying out the old oil and replacing with new.

Probably others too.
Rears should be removed to work on, to stop dirt getting in and also because it's easier to work the full range when off the car.

Hi, Just an update, in which I have topped up all for Shock Absorbers, and I have discovered the the O/S rear has a leak. Therefore, would it be ok just to replace the one, or is it better to replace the pair?

Thanks.

I would recommend that both rear dampers are replaced.
