New member - My first Minor in over 40 years

Thank you everyone for allowing me to join. I am Sandy (The Scotmoose). Last month I finally sacked my 2009 Mercedes C Class Estate (lovely car) and went back to "real driving" - Good news is my daughter now has it and I am on her insurance. I have bought a 1968 2 door saloon, which needs work, lots of work. Needs welding and bodywork, so will have to get it priced up, as I will be welding myself if price is too outrageous (Pension age old guy lol). There has been a disc brake with servo upgrade, but the brakes do not inspire confidence as soft in comparison to how I remember them being years ago. It will be a 2nd car/hobby, but will be frequently used all year round, as I know it will never be a show-stopper. It is just sooooooooo much fun and loads of people just break into a big smile when they see "MONTY". I have already been offered more than I paid for it, but no chance, I am having a ball.

Welcome, great news, the car looks fabulous. The brakes, particularly with discs, should be firm. If it is not synthetic fluid (mauve) it might be worth replacing the fluid (like for like or a lot of work); and in any event bleeding the system. The main thing is to have fun, and it sounds like you are

Welcome and may you enjoy many miles of trouble-free motoring.
If the car has covered only a small annual mileage it is possible some of the wheel cylinders have partly seized. But that is easily put right. Minors even on the smaller size brakes are good stoppers.
