I inherited this item in the back of my 1970 traveller when I recently purchased it.
Any one any idea what it is, I suspect it is something to do with the pedals.?

It is a clutch pedal linkage repair kit.
Here is the kit as sold by ESM

Dear NoviceM,

I only know the answer to your question because I just bought the same set from ESM - it's a Clutch Relay Shaft/Linkage kit (ESM code COM100).
If you get under your car and have a look at the area between where the foot pedals emerge from the floor pan and the gearbox housing you'll recognise the bits that you already have. With age it appears that some of the rubber bushes get hard and some of the original circular holes in some of the connecting brackets get a bit more oval. The net result is that the whole mechanical clutch mechanism gets a bit sloppy, and if left too long in that state it may actually fail at some point. I'm just waiting for a bit of warmer weather to fit my new linkage set.

All the best from another novice,
Andy

Many thanks for the replies, at least I now know what it is. I will check the condition of my existing clutch mechanism. Best regards

Hi,
From your picture it looks like the kit contains the (black) rubber version of the relay shaft bush, as has been discussed on here and other places modern rubber replacements are basically rubbish, you would be better off with the poly version, also available from ESM, link below.
Best wishes,
Mike.
