Leak from heater Series 2

Post by Lance40 »

Hi all, please can you help me...I have warm water dripping onto my left foot from just above the dipswitch :( I'm assuming its coming from the heater but I can't see how to get to it? Do I remove the parcel shelf? Hoping its a hose but worst case scenario if its the matrix can these be sourced/ reconditioned? I think its the earlier round type. Thanks in advance! Lance

I don’t know about Series 2 but with the later rectangular heater the pipes can be accessed by removing the driver’s side glovebox
1969 1098cc Convertible “Xavier” which I have owned since 1989.

If it is the gold SII heater, then the top bracket of the heater housing is attached under the dashboard and there is also a fixing to the metal edge of the parcel shelf below. You may need to remove the two screws at either end of the parcel shelf to allow the shelf to drop down a bit.
