Hi
Can anyone give me an approximate cost of replacing the sills on a Traveller and a reliable garage to carry out the work in the Central Scotland area.

I would think that the sky is the limit.......The construction of the underfloor on Morris Minors is complex.
What do you mean by "the sills"?
I'd have thought that the only answer is to take the car around a few repairers and ask them for estimates. Nobody will be able to do that without inspecting the car

Very roughly, when I last got quotes it was ~£600-800 a side. Could end up being £3-4k if the whole floor is coming out to find something solid to weld to.

Hi,
Below are some repair sections from ESM for the L/H side, the R/H side are the same price, so just double it.
As above, you will need to get a few quotes to find out exactly what you need and an idea of what the labour charges will be.
If you have to buy floor panels then it gets expensive, so hopefully whoever you get to do the welding will be able to fabricate any repairs to the floors / inner boxing for you, at a reasonable price. Buying sheet metal from a local supplier yourself, for your welder, may also save you some money.

Being a traveller could complicate things as well because the inner sill runs behind the wood frame.

Yes and the traveller also has additional strengthener channels in the sills not supplied by most parts specialists. Though ESM do one similar for the convertable/tourer.

When ever someone asks about getting such work done in Scotland, my advice is to take it down south - this is based on my own experiences from when I lived in Scotland.
Of course, if you do that then hopefully your gearbox won't fail on the way south resulting in having to pay for a private car transporter to take you the rest of the 400 miles after your insurance based breakdown cover refuses to take you to the destination or have anything more to do with you after agreeing to take you, so that you've been waiting hours on a transporter that was never coming but the insurance company never contacted you to tell you they'd changed their mind after the inital agreement...

I wanted a Beetle having grown up with all the Herbie films, but when choosing my first car I read online that they were apparently notorious for rust (ironic because I ended up with a Minor that required Major rust repairs) and the engines blow up - so ended up with the Minor

When I lived in Scotland I found some great welders in NE Fife between Tayport and St Andrews. Trick was getting a slot as they were popular!
Would love to move back as I'm sick of England.
