I had a 1949 convertable with alta head and twin carbs with 4 branch exhaust in 1963 at Alsager college .I sold it to someone who was going to restore it. Did it survive? It was a fabulous car.

A registration number would help - if you remember it. Without that you have little chance. You haven't provided much detail, but I know that not much I owned in 1963 has survived well
Good luck in your search though. You never know :)

Sadly I have no memory of the number. It was such an unusual specification perhaps even unique and the person I sold it to was well qualified to restore it to good order I just hoped it survived and against the odds someone saw this post. It was a fairly nasty hand painted maroon! cheers.

I had a 1952 Series MM Minor with the Derrington Alta head but just the one US carb twin branch inlet & four branch exhausted with straight through silencer and a ver straight tree inch pipe under the rear axle, no fan blades in the winter but it had the export heater a great help if I could see the temp getting to high, top speed 110 mph. Reg DFB600. Supercar for a young teenager that loved speed, courting was OK if the brake lever and gear stick down one girl said the steering wheel was in her way so I just took it off!
