MG midget 1275 gearbox woes

Some time ago bought a midget 1275 gearbox - just about to install when I noticed it was locked up. Sad but not as sad as installing it and then finding out.
Is there a good reference diagram available as I'm planning to strip it down ... Nothing to lose and may even succeed.
Similarly is there a step by step guide better than my old Haynes manual that I don't think has rib case gearboxes in it.
Thank you.

Have the selectors been shifted into two gears at the same time. Best to check the obvious possibilities before diving in.

See if this link works ——-
https://www.dorsetmmoc.co.uk/wordpress/ ... ebuild.pdf. Should help with a rebuild.

With a locked gearbox (I've suffered it twice!), you can remove the sump plug (having drained the oil, of course), and use a flat-bladed screwdriver to reach in and release the stuck selector forks.
You may find it's just a missing detent ball bearing/slug/spring in the side of the gearbox that's caused the problem, so check those are in place before dismantling any further.
