On my recently purchased Moggy the engine is a Austin 1100 from a A40 Mk2. It had a 948 gearbox fitted. I've obtained a 1098 box to refurb. Can a 1098 flywheel be fitted and a 1098 clutch assembly without modification?

If your engine is 1098cc and you have the ribbed 1098cc gearbox the 1098cc flywheel and clutch they can be fitted without modification.
It is best if you have the thick 1098cc rear engine plate as it positions the clutch release mechanism in the right place and gives a little more clearance around the flywheel/clutch assy.
Use the 1098cc clutch release lever as the 1098cc release lever and the 948cc clutch release lever are different.

...and if you didn't get a gearstick with your ribbed case gearbox, note that you cannot use the smoothcase one. The part that goes into the selector extension assembly is different. You will need to get a ribbed case one.
