After a few days of heavy rain (typical when I don’t have the car in the garage) I’ve noticed the passenger footwell very wet. The windscreen seal looks to be in very good condition.

Can water get in via the seals on wiper blades? As they look abit tatty.

Any other points I should check greatly appreciated.

For horrible moment there I thought I was back in the Land Rover Discovery 2 forum and was going to suggest you started by checking both sunroof seals and drains.

The windscreen rubber is the most likely culprit. It may look OK, but still leak. Sit in the car and watch whilst an accomplice liberally sprays a hose pipe over the screen.

The wiper spindles should have a gasket between the finisher and the body. If that is missing then it can leak. Also check the bodywork by the wing and the A-post as corrosion here can admit water.

Also the screen washer jet. Removing the glove box will give that away if there is any sign of water damage to the card.

The card in the passenger glove box was wet, so it could possibly be the washer jet? The carpet is REALLY wet though so I’m unsure as to how so much water could get in there.

I’ll just have to go over everything. If I needed a new windscreen seal would I need to get a windscreen specialist to to it?

Put vaseline around the base of the wiper spindle, bonnet hinge & washer jet, if it STILL leaks, it's the windscreen rubber....then you can use KY(ahem!) on this for the time being, should stop the water getting in until you get the opportunity to locate the offending item..

I had water ingress in the bottom outer corners of the seal where it meets the glass. Looked absolutely fine but that's where it leaked. Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure (yes it is a real thing!) will sort it easily.

If the glove box card is very wet, likely the wiper fittings or the bonnet hinges. These should have rubber gaskets fitted. The bonnet hinge gaskets are available but I'm not sure about those under the wiper bezels - I made my own cut from an old inner tube. The old ones were so perished water got past them.

Just to confuse you even further, it could be any/all/some of the suggestions causing your problem. Also, water appearing in the bottom corner of the screen can enter along the top edge where the rubber abuts the body, and then run all the way round to drip out in the corner.

If using a sealant, then use a "proper" windscreen product, not silicone based products. The afore mentioned Captain Tolley's is an excellent product.

dab some sealant onto and around the nuts and bolts from the bonnet under the dash see if it stops it,I also do same .as a matter of course on the inside of the boot on all the nuts and bolts protruding inside as a secondary seal.
