Will a mini enigne fit? Disc brakes?

Firstly, hello everyone. I'm totally new to Minors and am currently trying to find a reasonable one to buy.

One burning question I have though is.. does the Minor use the same 'A' series as the mini.
Meaning, can I swap the minor lump for a newer A+ lump and benefit from the benefits of unleaded petrol and 1300cc power?

Also, what disc conversions are available that can be just bolted on?
Again I'm working from a mini viewpoint.. it used to be an easy conversion to whip off some metro 4 pots and stick them on your mini. Are there any options like this for the moggy?
I've heard mention of Marina brakes - thats not really a great help though as they're none to common in the local yards around here.

Sorry to come on and ask questions that have probably been asked a million times before, I tried the search facility but to no avail.
cheers
jon

Wel firstly - it's not the same as the Mini - it can be converted but you'll really struggle.
Secondly the A+ is unlikely to be unleaded with a few exceptions
Thirdly you can upgrade to either 1275 A series by using a Marina or Midget donor, or to 1275 A+ by using an Ital donor. These need a bit of fiddling and some mixing of parts. You can also use the 1275 Maestro A+ (better still) however this requires a bunch of non standard parts to get it RWD.
Forthly, ;-) for any A-series you can get an unleaded head conversion.

For disk brake conversions - there are quite a few around (Midget / Marina / Escort / Sierra) but these vary in price and the cheaper end is unlikely to be as well engineered as the more expensive.

The club magazine is a great place to start as it'll give you a long list of suppliers that you can compare for everything you'll need.
