Last evening whilst passing through Stockbridge in the Test Valley I spotted a immaculate LCV van. At the time I did not discern as to whether it was a Morris or Austin or what cwt. The van was in dark green and branded 'Test Valley Fishing'. It really did stand out in the crowd.

The Test is the premier fly fishing river in England so the branding was really appropriate. Stockbridge is the home of the Houghton Fishing club which one of the most select fishing clubs in the world.
I will have to try and find out more about the van as I live within sight and sound of the river Test.

Thanks for the thought Phil, I think the van is a Morris, expanding the picture the bonnet (saloon) has the appropriate badge, and the grill is Morris, also a saloon front bumper and rear half bumpers, not necessarily conclusive proof of a Morris though. I like those wheels, LP 936 I think. My van started off dark green. As for the scenery in the area, what more could you want !

Just an ‘off topic ‘ comment . My grandfather was apprentice to the great ( and legendary ) Tom Cannon . I have his indentures duly signed by Tom Cannon .

Stockbridge is not only known for its fishing but also horse racing. The first horse racing grandstand was built at Danebury, Stockbridge. It is still there but now a ruin. Edward 7th and Lilly Langtree used to meet in Stockbridge for the racing!!!!
Also famous for its many pubs way back as it was on the droving route from Wales to London. One of the old droving pubs still has a sign painted on its front in Welsh stating to the effect it provided good bedding for both man and beast.
A lesser known fact is that Stockbridge was the original home of the Willans safety harness.

I have a 6 point Willans harness for my Minor.
