Old radio component?

Shame to throw such an old item, anyone want it ? I’m not even sure what it is.

It tells you on the box it's a dual without a switch but what you do with it now that's a mystery :) :lol:

It probably is a capacitor of some sort, possibly twin ganged, variable, for use in a valve set.

I don't believe it's a variable Capacitor, Flux or otherwise, as a capacitor is basically 2 plates as typified by the circuit symbol looking a bit like this -||-. (as opposed to a battery symbol where the vertical lines are 2 different sizes :wink: )

This looks more like it has Wire Coils, so perhaps a Tuning Coil as used on a 1930s -50s Ham Radio ??

Yes, I think you're right. I didn't look at the photo close up, but now I have they are clearly coils wound around the outside. It's a tuning coil.
