Traveller (AGAIN)
I have been told that to fix my B post i need to take my travellers wood off. Is there anything else (other than bits that look realy rusty) I should be looking for / doing while the wood is off?

You mean anything apart from sanding, treating, and varnishing the woodwork, repainting the alloy panels and roof, replacing the window channels (including innumerable screws), replacing all the dum dum sealer, re-gluing the vinyl to the trim panels, and replacing all the rusty screws and bolts as well as cleaning, welding, and painting the rusty metal parts?
No, not much.
I just refinished the timber on my traveller, including removing and dismantling (somewhat) the doors and interior fixings and that was a very sucky job. I found a few rot-spots in the timber, but I'm in denial about those for now. Given the look of the rust on your car I'd say you'll have fun getting it apart, and there will probably be more metalwork to be found. There is also the multitude of choices for refinishing the wood. I used the Sikkens HLS/Filter 7 approach and I'm quite pleased how it came out. Its a bit darker, and not as shiny as the (polyurethane?) varnish that was there before, but it looks OK with the smoke grey , and it is in regular use.
Have you got the Lindsay Porter book "Morris Minor & 1000 Purchase and Restoration Guide"? If not, get it. It has a lot of Traveller-specific content that will help you.

sound like a lot of work to repair the b-posts
may be posible to repair the post using a mig on spot weld mode & using a dam cloth to cool the area after each
weld..

I manged to repair the B-post with wood in place- just lots of small welds leaving to cool in between. Tricky and requires patience, but is possible. (be careful you don't burn the wood (scorch), or worse still, start a fire!)
