Hi looking to time the car on the weekend.Seems to have electrical eginition in the distributor and is a 1275 probably marina engine.Can I get spec advice advising how we go about timing it please

The 1275cc Marina engine has a basic ignition timing setting of 28 - 32 degrees advance at 5,200 rpm.
Once you have that basic setting you can advance or retard the ignition to suit the engine. I would advise not to advance or retard too far from the basic setting.

Any advice please On which cap leads and plugs I should buy for the 1275 engine

As regards spark plugs N9Y will do nicely and are recommended for use in the 1275cc as per Marina BL workshop manual.
As regards the distributer cap the standard Lucas one will do. Pt No: DDB108.
As regards plug leads the silicon type are best but any good quality branded ones will suffice.

Some more details as regards the ignition timing for the 12V 1275cc engine:-
Distributer Lucas 43D4, Lucas 45D4.
Stroboscopic at 1000 rpm 14 degrees BTDC.
Static 9 degrees BTDC.

Thank you for the pictures but they are not clear enough for me to see the fine details as to confirm whether the distributer is fitted with electronic ignition or not and if it is fitted with electronic ignition what type.
Therefore could you please post a couple of clearer pictures.

Yes that is electronic ignition.
Unless the distributer advance curve have been altered the standard ignition timing(s) can be utilised.
The main reason for fitting electronic ignition is that the ignition process is more efficient and more reliable.
I have a Lumenition optronic electronic performance ignition with matching Lumenition coil fitted to my Minor and I find it much more efficient.
