Hello,
the last couple of times that I've been on, I've noticed that some of the posts seem to have been posted at a time yet to come, often 10 or so minutes, however I just saw a new post posted nearly an hour ahead of the time so I was just wondering if the clock for the message board is correct.

Good question.

This is in fact due to our virtual server, which is often located in a variety of different time zones. One night, for example, it could be hosted in France (which is up to an hour ahead of us), and another time it could be hosted in Dublin (which could be half an hour behind). :wink:

Maybe we could fix it by moving the UK into the future and having the same time as the proper Europeans?

<runs, ducks, hides>

but anyway - the board was at the right time for me all week, although I wasn't here.

Hmmm........ yes, good idea. Let's have the UK and other countries a part of a huge European state centrally controlled...... hang on, didn't someone try that around 1939-1945?? :wink:

The Americans??
Oh no - they must have delayed it as they're still busy doing that in the middle east.

A friend of mine works for claranet (Big UK ISP) I can ask what the hosting charges are if you are interested in hosting the site in the UK rather than having it bounce around.

Erm........ no, the Americans did not want to create a huge European state centrally controlled........ that was another country, sort of in the centre of Europe! :wink:

Russia isn't in the centre of Europe - I thought it was a bit to the left when looking from above ;-)

I appreciate that 'from above' is a kind of relative concept when viewing a globe from space, but if one takes the conventional view that North is upwards, East to the right and West to the left, surely Russia is on the right, or am I missing the gag?

I have long lost track of time or where I am. Never noticed the clock actually, only when I get up to go to work

I thought it was two countries that failed individually and ended up joining forces :wink:

Yes there is, but only relative to your frame of reference.

so if two people were in space and one was the other way up to the other, who is upsidown?!?!
my head hurts :wink:
on the + side working on your car would be easy in 0g, if you wanted to do some work on the underside just turn it over. I dont think welding would be that easy though with no air!
