Been discussed here before, but... there are now thought to be over one million illegal E scooters on the streets and pavements of the UK; and many more will join them after Christmas.

Have the Police lost control of the streets?

I like the comment of Propshaft, short and to the point.

I suspect that legislators will soon take the easy way out and declare all E scooters legal in the UK; thus heaping more misery on pedestrians- the group that SHOULD have the most rights of all.

It's being so cheerful that keeps me going!
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year everyone
John.

Pulling out of a turning after dark I noticed one coming towards me in the road with no lights and as we know they can travel at a decent speed. Didn't come past me, veered across the road up the pavement down a walkway.
Going to be a lot more of this.

Alan

Holy thread revival Batman!

It seems the government in their wisdom (?) are about to make private E scooters legal in the UK.

The police don't want them, the AA don't want them, the RNIB don't want them, living streets don't want them and I don't want them.

They do not get people out of their cars (most users were pedestrians or public transport users already) and their manufacture and charging is bad for the environment.

The government are going to do the easiest thing (make them all legal) rather than the right thing (ban them from the UK forever).

Chaos will be coming to a footpath near you very soon....
