All hail founts of knowledge.
We have an 803 engine in bits. Going to treat it to new pistons but the crank doesn't look too bad so we are hoping to put a set of shells on it without a re-grind. Can anyone enlighten us as to what we are looking for? Big end shells are stamped 2A232 and 2407. Mains 2A646 and 2744.
In eager anticipation of your superior knowledge. thanks. Regards Doog.

You may be OK, but I would never have an engine in pieces and not check for wear. A regrind now, if necessary, would avoid another engine removal/dismantling/new bearings/gaskets, etc in the not too distant future.

Agreed. If you've already got it in bits, go the whole hog and get it balanced. As they say, do it once.....
Plus the fact that an 803cc engine needs all the help it can get!
Best wishes,
Mike.
