Tecalemit Oil Filter Canister Seals

My 1950 Tourer was fitted with a 948 engine (9M-U-98803) by a previous owner. The canister oil filter appears to be a later Tecalemit, and uses a spring clip above the pressure plate that supports the disposable filter. There is a rubber washer just below the pressure plate (as opposed to the felt washer).

I have looked at a bunch of filter canister parts diagrams, and none shows the large round cup that fits under my canister. There is a hard plastic washer that fits precisely into the hole of the round cup. What is the part number for the sealing washer?

Attached are several photos.

Thank you,

David Schwartz

The Tecalemit filter assembly at the Moss UK link does not match my car. I believe the correct part is:

Rubber Seal, Tecalemit filter bolt to canister

Though I still haven't found a match on a canister with the round cup at the bottom.

I am certain that the oil filter has been assembled with the wrong parts and that is why you are unable to find the correct washer in the parts list.
These are the correct part numbers for the parts you require for the Tecalemit filter assy starting from the bottom of the filter
Bolt centre.....................................17H943.
Seal bolt to sump (rubber)..............7H1758.
Filter bowl.....................................37H436.
Spring............................................7H1764.
Washer plain...................................7h1765.
Washer pressure plate (felt).............7H1758.
Plate pressure................................17H942.
Filter Element (filter).......................8G684.
Circlip plate to head........................2A700.
Plate element (clamp).....................7H147.
Washer clamp plate (felt)................7H1756.
Washer dished clamp plate.............7H1761.
These part number have been taken from the BMC parts list and relate to the Tecalemit oil filter.
After market manufactures often give their own part numbers to parts so causing confusion.
The round cup (Pt No: 17H1172) was fitted to the Purolator oil filter.

Thanks, I suspected it was a mixture of parts.

The Purolater cup washer (17h1172) is quite different from the large bowl shaped part that fits over the bottom of my oil filter canister. So the bowl is still a mystery, as it doesn't appear in any parts diagram I have found.

The oil filter diagram above is of the type fitted to the BMC 'B' Series engine.
I would suggest that you obtain the correct oil filter bowl and go from there.
Update - I have found this image of a very early Tecalemit filter assy as fitted to a Minor.

The large washer on the bottom if I remember correctly is part of the bowl and should not be detachable.
Here is a oil filter assy with the large washer attached for sale on 'e' bay..
