I was just about to order some new bumper securing bolts(from ESM's website) when I noticed that there are two sizes! (Large head and small head).

So, for renewing all the bolts on a Minor 1000 bumper (without overriders) how many and of which type do I need?

Thanks! :D

if i remember correctly, you need both. small ones for the blade to the iron, and then 2 for the holes where the overider would fix.

I've just replaced my bumpers and needed 8 small headed bolts per bumper. I thought that the larger headed bolts were for traveller bumpers? The holes where the over rider would fit are the same size so you don't need a bigger head size to fill it, and the length of the bolts is the same.

Hi Cam

I agree with Louise - its 8 small bolts per blade if no overiders fitted (like mine). The large headed ones are for the Traveller Rear Blades. If you fit overiders then any bolt will do as its not visible.

ouch, i stand corrected. i was sure the overider holes were larger dia. these bolts also hold the small curved iron that goes between the valance/ overider and the bumper fixing iron. if the small bolt was used, it would pull through the curved small iron, unless large washers were used.

I just used small ones at the front. The ones I ground off the bumper on my car were all the same (small size)..

The small bolts are fine for holding the overider and the iron, although there's not a lot of length left over! Larger washers aren't required, just use the ones provided with the bolts and they won't pull through.

My overriders had a large captive nut and bolt built into them through which they bolted to the rest of the bumper assembly. It was the only fixings on the whole bumper that I was able to re- use. The rest had to be ground off :(

I just hope the chrome domed nuts I got from ESM don;t go rusty and pitted within six months...

Well, in the end I rang ESM and asked. They said that I needed 4 small ones and 2 large ones if no overriders were fitted................. so, last night I placed the order on their website...

I just rang them back and changed the order to 8 small ones! Phew!

Thanks folks. :D

Don't worry Mark - I would have said the same as you.
