I was informed recently that the log book goes with the chassis.
And yet there is a pickup cab for sale on fleabay, that comes with a log book.
Just saying, that's all.

Nothing new there. Hopefully the bulkhead plate number matches the v5.

V5 should go with the cab's chassis NUMBER, bolt cab to a solid chassis, all good!
However, just a v5 (with NO cab) but a bare chassis, you're entering into dodgy territory, sourcing the correct model cab for the year & all the hasstle involved..

What's the issue here, cannot see owt wrong nor any illegal activity when cab comes with it's original identity & chassis number(?).
As stated, the actual chassis is a only a "frame", in the GPO days, regardless of whether cab/body swap - and remembering both the cab & body were numbered individually - the regn/chassis numbers went with a cab, regardless of whether it was the original one.
My old 1959 postal van went through a GPO o/h & receved a cab/body from a 1960 van, despite being done "officially" nearly 60yrs ago, would this be classed as "illegal"?

This stuff only applies after ~1995, as I understand it, otherwise it is grandfather rights and you are OK.
