Well,today I did a car journey in my Morris Minor to a car show which was a round trip of 100 miles.
Fabulous day out and great to drive Morris on a decent journey,however when I got home I looked under my bonnet and the spark plugs were kind of sooted on the ceramic parts ..please see attached pics.
Can anybody tell me what's going on and is it anything to worry about? The car ran great except on return journey I did have some hesitating which maybe something else to look at.

It looks like you have compression escaping up the spark plugs between the ceramic and the steel body,

I see your running Denso plugs, a first rate plug in respect of quality and performance, so surprised to see the leakage, but I think I would be looking to replace them,

You could contact ADL who I believe are still the importer and distributor of Denso products who used to have a really good help line and customer service,

What plug caps are you using,it looks more like spark is arcing.
Extremly rare for plug blow-by

I would recommend that you change the spark plugs.

many thanks for the useful replies,the plugs are about 6 months old and the ceramic part turns round on all of the spark plugs which Im not sure is standard??

If you can turn the ceramic then the plugs must be replaced. In time the ceramic entre may blow out of the metal plug body which could cause additional damage.

Had someone sold you counterfeit spark plugs?
What's the chance of that happening to all four from a quality manufacturer?

I did wonder if the ceramic should be fixed and they were like this when purchased from one of the regular Minor suppliers.
I think it maybe time to replace with some champions ?

I know many people will say Champions are good, but I have not had a much luck with them over the years with quite a few faulty new ones. My plug of choice is NGK, and so far I have never come across a bad one. I run NGK B6ES in my Traveller.

Yes I've had a few bad Champions in the past and so I go for Bosch plugs - I know we've left Europe but it's keeping it local

Those plugs were clearly never fit for purpose. They should never have been fitted.

I think Phil just about says all that is needed to know. The Ceramic on a Spark Plug must never move independently.

Thank you everybody for the fabulous advice.I went to work in Morris today and it had a misfire that got worse so as soon as I got home I swapped the plugs for an old set of NGK that I had and upon removal of the old plugs,the ceramics broke on 3 of the plugs.
The plug ends were red as pics attached which is maybe another concern after my long journey?
The car drive great again with the NGK set fitted which I Am happy with.

Don't chuck them and contact Denso.
