Jack point

I want to jack up the front of my traveller and put the front on axle stands. What is/are best points to place the jack?.

The best place if you want to jack up the front of the Minor is to put the jack under the front cross member.
You must put a piece of timber between the jack and the cross member and which fits right across the member.
I use a piece of shaped timber (see below) that fits around the lower half of the front crossmember and fits between the chassis legs so it is unable to slip.

I learnt (before restoration fortunately) that the bare jack will punch indentations in the cross-member. Will rubber jack pads be fine though, for future reference?

Make sure that the hard rubber jacking pads fill the jack seat and the top of the pad is well above the jack seat raised rim protrusions.

Unless I am jacking under the diff housing I always use a piece of wood between the jack and what is being jacked.

Don't rely on the standard Morris issue jack use a Hydraulic one and axle stands when needed :)
