This point has crossed my mind too.
The information that you have been gathering is extremely valuable and will be an excellent resource for the club as a whole, so I think a few copies could safely go on record with the club, as a reference source for individuals doing related research or who have a justifiable reason to access it.
I would suggest paper copies only for the most part backed up by a computer memory stick for the club and, of course, your own file.
A few copies could also be made available on club stands at Nationals for people to peruse, out of interest or if they are looking for something specific but not to take away (and only photograph sections upon request and being given permission).
I have always thought 'good on you' for doing it. It will be interesting to know which ones have survived, especially for anyone looking for a specific vehicle.
Hopefully you don't have too much more to gather, though what you have already must be quite a volume and would be useful to issue out 'as is'.
You can then update it, as and when, as a lot of reference sources are.
Whilst having the satifaction that you have already gathered enough to be 'published'.
But, as you state, we live in a society where there too many bad elements who would love to get their hands on such material, for their own nefarious ends......
So I think controlled access is best.
Best wishes,
Mike.
