fuel pump

looks like the fuel pump is on its last legs!
what size is fuel pipe nut to the pump is ????

But as to the fuel pump you can repair:

but i have a pump but didn't want to use a adjustable on it i would rather use a proper spanner

Sorry it’s a guess, 5/8 AF or 11/16 AF ? Measure it across the flats to confirm. Out of interest why didn’t you want to use an adjustable on this instance ? Providing you use it the correct way round, it would be ok for that particular job . On some applications I agree a fixed spanner is preferable, especially tightening stuff.

Sorry I didn't understand it was a spanner size you were after.
16mm is a good fit. That is what I used when replacing Elsie May's fuel pipe.

Whichever one you've got that fits, whether A/F, Metric, Whitworth or whatever.
The age of these cars and the years of different bits being fitted, anything is possible.
I was changing brake cylinders at the weekend and the bolt heads were a very good fit to 10mm and 13mm sockets. Except one bolt that needed an 11mm, despite being the same thread as the 10mm head bolts.
Expect the unexpected....
