Morris Minor Owners Club

Hi,
I am looking for a period style lockable fuel cap for Elsie May, so far without luck.
However, during my search I found and purchased this Wilmott Breeden one, as it was in the style i was looking for and was billed as BMC / Austin / Morris.
Unfortunately the internal diameter is too big and not designed to suite the Morris Minor fuel neck either (diameter shown in pictures below).
In my defence there was no picture of the underside.
My mistake was to let the description and condition talk me into it.
So a nice cap, the chrome is in good condition, it has one key which turns freely and the locking mechanism works.
But useless for Elsie May.....
My question is does anyone on here know what it probably would fit?

Just browsing eBay (looking for a cap) and came accross an identicle one (same patent no.), advertised as being for a Ford Cortina / Escort / Granada.............

AFAIA, all lockable caps for a Minor are not direct replacements, they require the addition of an adaptor to the filler.
For example the one that CW sells.

When I got Basil, he had a black locking cap, I spent ages trawling around Autojumbles, tape measure in hand, until I found one the right size to replace it with a chrome one.

Ah but spending ages browsing auojumbles is part of the fun of owning a classic.......

That looks very much like the one I found to fit the adaptor I had already fitted.
I think it's the adaptor that is the 'item of short supply' when it comes to these old caps.
Too many people salvaging the caps, breaking cars they know nothing about, forget to include the adaptor ring.
