Suggestions please,
I've just replaced the indicator warning lamp - the one with a green cap on the end of the stalk.
To do that, I had to break the old cap - it appears to have been glued into the black plastic holder. As you can imagine, this is now looking sad, so I had to re-glue the new lens onto it.
Is it possible to renew the plastic end?
Or am I giong to be posting a "wanted" ad for a complete assembly?
Thanks,
Colin

RE: Indicator stalk light
I don't think the plastic end is available, from the way it is fitted. The plastic holder on Phyllis isn't black any more - the sun has bleached it clear!
I think it's a new assembly job...

RE: Indicator stalk light
yes the black part does not come off. i have lots of new green lens and many spare used indicator stawlks.
i find that if you fit a new green lens you need to get a fine pick, like a jewlers screwdriver and dig out the broken bits of green plastic stuck in the thread ot the black, or sunbleached part. many replacments lens fall of because this is not cleand out.

RE: Indicator stalk light
Does anyone know if the screw in lens in question here (ie end of the stalk) is the interchangeable with the one from earlier Mogs, which sits on the indicator switch housing at the base of the stalk. I know they sometimes have a little cover which folds over them. Mine is looking very sad and I'd love to get my hands on a better one even if it is green and doesn'y have the cover.
Austin 1800 MkII's use the same size lens and thread (I tried one from my Dad's car...but had to give it back!) They also suffer from the same removal/replacement problem. It took ages to clean the thread.
Cheers!

Shawn,
I've just spoken with ESM, they tell me it's the same part for both.
The cost for the part is 95p here in the UK, you could try EBay
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 00062&rd=1 (see if this gets to silly money).
If you have any problems getting hold of one drop me a mail (20g postage to Aus is 68p - total must be about the cost of a XXXX - not in UK!)
Cheers,
Colin
