Window regulator

I’m trying to reassemble the window winder on my 1953 series 2. When I bought it the channels that hold the glass were missing. The glass just rests on the two small wheels on the regulator, falling off and dropping inside the door at will. I’ve know acquired the U shape channels and bits of rubber. Trouble is I can’t work out how it all fits together. Can anyone explain, ideally with a diagram / photo?

Thank you. One of my problems is where do the the two wheels on the regulator arm go? I can’t figure it out.

A Morris Minor regulator doesn't have 2 wheels.

No, you’re quite right, just one wheel. Unfortunately mine is all chewed up and looks like it’s been seized at some point. Are they replaceable?

I'm not sure if you can purchase them on their own. Plenty of good used regulators around though I'm sure.

I’m sure I’m being thick, I have the two parts shown. The wheel on the regulator fits in the channel on the aluminium (silver) part. Should the glass fit directly into this? What holds it in? What is the black part for?

The wheel fits in the channel of the painted section.
I believe originally the glass was pressed in with a rubber section between it and the channel.
Mine was rotten so I used a silicone sealant/adhesive (neutral cure) to bond the glass into the channel in the hope that my new assembly didn't trap water.

The black channel looks (more or less) like the original Minor channel. The glass is held into that by a rubber seal as mentioned already. I have no idea what the silver coloured channel is for. Where did it come from? It might have been easier to purchase a decent secondhand glass still fitted to the channel from dismantled Minor but you could try a different way - like that suggested above I suppose.
