Hi,
Another item from Elsie May's spares stash are these valve caps and cores.
But are they for a car or a bicycle?
If anyone recognises and wants them message me and I will happily stick them in the post for you FOC.
Best wishes,
Mike.

I would say car and/or motorcycle, You may or may not know that the caps are such that one end is used to remove the valve cores.

I've never seen this type before. Like I said if anyone wants or needs them, they are FOC.
Best wishes,
Mike.

If they were for a bicycle I imagine they would be much narrower. I would say they are standard car cores of the 50s/60s.
Modern ones are only about half the length, without the spring, so I suspect these may not fit a modern valve stem.

Modern bicycles use the long and short Schrader valves (which are the same as those used for cars and motorcycles) as well as the Schrader valve caps.
Those valve caps with the tool for removing the valve have been around for a long time.

You should keep them in your car as its not unknown for a tyre valve to leak. The idea is to have one of those special valve caps on one of the wheels, perhaps the spare.

Does anyone remember using the rubber tube in the link below for repairing bicycle inner tube valves:

Oh yes, before they started to switch to other valves. Apparently they are still widely used in Asia, referred to as the 'English Valve'...

Yes, sorry, I was getting my valves mixed up, I was thinking of bikes I've had with the thinner stems, where the valve has the little knurled nut on the top. I just looked them up, they're called Presta.
It makes sense Schrader are all the same diameter; I didn't realise the long ones were still used though.

If still available I would like them...
They are the same as I have on my 1927 Cowley Pickup
I kept them for years before I found and appropriate car to put them on
